Introduction
Yo what’s up guys? This is David Hoang coming at you from supplementsuperhero.com. In this video I’m going to be talking about the Tom Hardy body.
Now Tom Hardy’s been a really, really, really hot topic lately. This is actually something I’ve wanted to talk about for a while.
By the way, this is actually the first video in a brand new series that I’m going to do, and a brand new series that I’m actually really, really excited about.
Something that I actually really, really am fascinated by and something that I’m actually really, really interested in doing. That’s basically celebrity body transformations.
Just talking about how a variety of celebrities… I’m going to be doing both male and female, have just transformed their bodies, whether it’s losing weight, or whether it’s bulking up and getting really, really huge muscles, just training really, really hard for certain roles.
This is definitely a really, really cool topic and a new series that I’m going to do. So this is the first video in the series, so I hope you guys like it and I’ll continue doing more of these videos if you enjoy them.
Epic Tom Hardy Movies
But basically, yes, Tom Hardy, really, really successful actor and a lot of his roles have, have gotten a lot of attention because of his body transformation.
Now, superb actor does a fantastic job, but I think one of the things that people really like about Tom Hardy is because of his dedication and the amount of energy, time, and effort that he puts into actually getting into character and actually transforming his body in order to fit that particular character.
There’s three characters, three movies in particular where he had gained quite a bit of fame and quite a bit of attention because of that body transformation.
There was Bronson, okay. There was Warrior, which is about fighting…MMA, and then there was The Dark Knight Rises where he played the infamous Bane, where he fights Batman.
So, in Bronson, at least from some of the sources that I’ve seen, obviously I don’t know 100% if these are 100% true, but at least in general, these are the numbers that I kind of discovered through my own independent research.
In Bronson they said that he gained 42 pounds of muscle and fat. In Warrior he had gained 40 pounds of muscle…huge! In Bane he had actually… This is his newest film of the three, he gained 30 pounds of muscle and some fat as well.
Keep in mind these are like huge, huge gains. I mean 10 pounds is a big deal, 15 pounds is a big deal, 20 pounds is a big deal.
But we’re talking like 40 pounds! 40 pounds of muscle in some of his roles and 40 pounds of muscle and fat and some of his roles, which is huge.
Keep in mind this dude is like 5’8”, so it’s just sick. It’s just sick, what he’s doing, especially with the role of Bane. From what he said with his role in Bane, that really, really took a toll on his body because he was getting older.
I think he was almost to the age of 40 when he played Bane. So when you’re packing on that much muscle, and you’re like working out that much, eating that much, it does take a toll on your body to a certain extent.
Tom Hardy’s Bodybuilding Secrets
So, based on some of the research I did, I didn’t find too much into all the specific workouts that Tom Hardy was doing.
But basically, there’s a decent amount of information on what he did with Warrior. For his role in Warrior, he worked really, really, really hard. That’s the main thing that I got.
He worked out, and he worked, trained really, really, really hard, and was eating a lot and eating really, really clean.
So, they say that for his role in Warrior, he would box for two hours a day. Then he would do kickboxing for another two hours a day, and then he’d do choreography for another two hours a day, and then he’d do two hours of lifting and he would do that every single day.
So literally, eight hours of work. Okay, so this is not like sitting at an office job. This is not sitting at a cubicle like I do at my job.
This is like in the gym, working hard, putting a lot of pressure, putting a lot of stress on your body, two hours of boxing, two hours of kickboxing, two hours of cardio, two hours of lifting, which is huge.
They actually said that for the actors that were on set for Warrior, they would eat five to six meals a day. So every couple hours or so, five to six meals a day, a bunch of calories they were getting in like these protein-packed meals.
Tom Hardy said that he ate like pretty much nothing but chicken breasts and broccoli. That was it. That’s pretty typical. You’ll find that a lot, with like, a lot of these celebrities, like a lot of chicken breasts, lots of broccoli, steamed vegetables, so on and so forth.
Yeah, just with Warrior, like he developed these really, really, really huge traps. I don’t even think Tom Hardy fully understood exactly how he got such huge traps.
But, I mean, his basic suggestion was to eat, eat a lot. Eat really, really clean, and hit the gym and then work hard and then basically follow all your trainers.
No Athletic Background?
What I found really, really interesting too is that Tom Hardy doesn’t really have a really strong athletic background.
I don’t completely know his whole story, all the different types of sports he did. But at least going into the movie Warrior, they said that he had very, very little athletic background. So he had to learn a lot of the skills, he had to learn MMA.
It was a big learning curve for him. I mean, even in his interviews, if you watch the interviews, he wasn’t that excited of how going on a diet. It was like, “Aw, screw this. I need some sweets.”
He wasn’t really that excited about it. He just really didn’t have much of a strong fitness background, which I thought was just really, really interesting.
You assume sometimes that a lot of these actors, they have like a really, really strong athletic background because of how they look in these movies.
But ,no, it’s really just a true testament that if you want something bad enough, you apply yourself, you work hard, you can attain the results you want, even if you don’t have that background.
So again, basically what I learned from Tom Hardy is work your butt off at the gym for hours, and hours, and hours on end. Eat five to six meals a day, eat tons of protein, chicken breasts, broccoli, and work really, really hard, and dedicate yourself.
