What is the Paleo Diet?

Many argue that people in contemporary times are suffering from obesity and chronic disease because of the popularity of processed foods that our bodies are not designed to naturally digest.
So, by referring back to the Paleo diet, or the ways we’re used to eating naturally, it will essentially help us lose weight.
And the Paleo diet is super healthy and it focuses on lean meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Anything that could be considered natural food that our ancestors in the Paleolithic area survived on would be acceptable.
Foods that became very popular after the introduction of farming are avoided. This would include dairy products, legumes, grains, refined sugar, salt and anything that could be considered highly processed.
What is the Keto Diet?
Now the keto diet on the other hand is a bit different. And, the term keto is short for ketogenic or ketosis.
Ketosis is the state in which our body is burning our body fat so that it can be used for energy. Now the principle behind the keto diet is to help accelerate our bodies into a state of ketosis as fast as possible and help maintain that state as much as possible.
Now, if you’re on the Keto diet, you’re typically eating meals that consist mainly of fat. In addition to a high fat diet, you’re eating a moderate amount of protein and a low amount of carbohydrates.
It’s also a very ironic concept, but one that makes sense after looking at the science behind it. Eating more fat can actually stimulate our body’s ability to burn unused fat in our body.
When fat is broken down, it creates compounds in our body called ketones, which our bodies use for energy, and when our body is consuming a good amount of fat and using it as its primary energy source, our bodies become fat-burning machines and we become more effective at utilizing fat in our body.
Which is Better?
So, in terms of which one’s better at burning thigh fat and weight loss in general, the answer is…it depends on you and your goals.
By its very nature, the keto diet is designed to get you into a state so that your body can burn fat. It can burn inner thigh fat, belly fat, leg fat. Okay. It’s great, especially in the short term.
And, it’s good if you’re okay with eating a diet of fat…okay…if you’re into having a diet that mainly consists of foods that have various fats in them.
Now, I would say the Paleo diet is the winner for you if you like flexibility…if you don’t like the idea of extreme dieting.
So, for example with the Keto diet, you’re focused mainly on fat. If you don’t like that idea and you like the idea of having more of a well-rounded, balanced diet, the Paleo diet is better and it’s more designed for long-term.
So, if you’re not so concerned with losing thigh fat, or losing tons of weight, in a short period of time, and you just want to do it more naturally and gradually lose fat and lose weight month by month, year by year, Paleo diet is good for that.
