Introduction
Yo, what’s up guys? This is David Hoang, coming at you from supplementsuperhero.com, and I’ve got a very sparkling video for you guys.
I may be talking about our Jordin Sparks. Get it? Jordin Sparks, sparkling video, get it? Okay, bad joke.
Anyways, yes, I’m going to be talking about some Jordin Sparks weight loss tips and I’m going to be talking about how Jordin Sparks was able to lose 50 pounds over the course of 18 months, which is really, really impressive, really phenomenal.
Background on Jordin Sparks
I mean, who wouldn’t want to lose 50 pounds, right? I mean, even over the course of several years that’s a good amount of weight loss.
And, if you don’t know who Jordin Sparks is, she’s a very famous singer. She became very famous through American Idol.
And, she’s pretty tall. She’s a six-foot tall girl and she’s actually about my age currently. She’s about 26, 27, right now, or I think, 28, right now, as I’m filming this.
But, her weight loss journey, though, began right before she turned 21 and actually she was always really, really comfortable with her weight.
She didn’t really have a problem with it. She had a really good self image, which is a key…I think a big part of the reason why she was able to lose such a good amount of weight over the course of 18 months was because she has a good attitude, she has a good mindset.
But, basically, before her 21st birthday, she got a little sick and she was going to celebrate her birthday and she was just telling herself, “Man, I just feel really sick right now. I should be in the prime of my life right now. I shouldn’t feel like this.”
And, it was at that moment where she was like, “Okay, enough is enough. I’ve got to make my health a priority. Starting this year, I’m going to make my health a priority.”
And, basically, she just hit it hard.
Exercise Tips
She took her diet and her exercise really, really seriously. And some of the exercises she did, included Zumba, included hiking, boxing, running, circuit exercises with a personal trainer.
So, a lot of really fun and kind of, like, a variety of exercises. I think that’s one thing that we can learn from Jordin Sparks.
I mean, she didn’t necessarily do anything out of the ordinary, but it was a lot of basic training. But, just from what I could gather, it looks like she had some fun with that.
So, she went and she did some boxing, she did some hiking, she did some Zumba. Those are some examples of, maybe, some weight loss exercises that we don’t hear too much.
For me, personally, I’m kind of used to grinding it out at the gym, hitting the treadmill, lifting the weights, but I should probably consider, maybe, doing something a little fun, a little different, like Zumba for example. That’s something that I’ve always been curious about but never really explored.
So, it’s kind of one lesson I took from Jordin.
Sparks’ Diet Routine
And then, in terms of diet, she had a lot of really good tips in general. So, basically, what she did was she cut out some junk food. She lowered her sugar intake. She even cut out Starbucks.
Yep, I know that’s tough for some people out there, it’s tough for some of you guys, but she was willing to cut out Starbucks, at least for that period of time.
She cut down on her portion sizes, and that’s a big thing too. In America especially, we love to eat really, really big portions, but she learned portion control.
Some of the things that she actually ate included fruit, yogurt, grilled chicken, lean steak, salads, and when she had to snack or when she felt like eating a snack, she would need something healthy like an apple or Smart Food popcorn.
So, again, that’s fruit, yogurt, grilled chicken, lean steak, salads, for snacks, an apple or Smart Food popcorn.
And, she also stopped eating two hours before going to bed. And that’s pretty good tip, too, because you want to actually burn the calories that you ingest.
You want to actually take some time to give your body to actually burn all that stuff and burn the calories. And then, also, the more time that you take between your last meal of the day and the time you go to bed is also good because when your body’s asleep, you’re actually burning calories as well.
So, when you’re awake, it gives you more time to burn those calories and then when you go to sleep, you’re burning even more calories.
So, you’re increasing that amount of time that you’re actually fasting.
The Right Mindset
But other than that, that’s pretty much it, guys. I mean, just some basic stuff from Jordin.
And one last thing that I learned from Jordin is, just, her mindset. Her mindset is just really, really good. She has a really good general philosophy that you’ve got to have the right mindset to lose weight.
You can’t just force it. You can’t just say, “Okay, I’m going to lose weight. I’m going to lose weight. I’m going to lose weight.”
But, from what I learned from Jordin, is that you got to have, I guess, a right purpose behind why you want to lose the weight.
For example, Jordin, she wanted to just genuinely be healthier and she wanted to take her health more seriously. It wasn’t necessarily just about looking great or for looking good on camera.
I’m sure maybe that was part of it, but a big reason why she wanted to lose the weight was to be healthier, just to be the best her possible.
Conclusion
So hopefully this helped, guys. Hopefully, this added some value. I know I definitely learned a couple things from Jordin.
