Introduction
Yo! What’s up guys? This is David Hoang coming at you from supplementssuperhero.com and today I’m going to be doing my honest review of the fish and broccoli diet.
I’m going to be going over what it is, a recent testimonial about the diet, as well as some of the benefits of the fish and broccoli diet…as well as some of the disadvantages to the fish and broccoli diet.
So let’s get into it guys. This is actually a diet that I was recently thinking about, or recently wanted to research, and shoot a video about because it’s similar to the chicken and broccoli diet.
It’s something that I just found pretty fascinating and recently found out was like a thing. Like it was an actual diet that people were looking up and searching for on the internet.
The Fish and Broccoli Diet Video
So, I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and, actually, I found a video.
And, the original video I linked to it in the description below, so feel free to check it out if you want, but it’s this testimonial of this guy that literally went on a fish and broccoli diet and he did it for a full week then he apparently, I guess, continued to do the diet for a while.
But it turns out that he actually was able to lose 9.2 pounds in one week of utilizing this diet. So literally, he lost 9.2 pounds in one week after starting the fish and broccoli diet.
Specifics of the Testimonial
And what he did was he literally just ate 200 grams of fish and 200 grams of broccoli; and it was white fish that he ate.
So, it wasn’t like oily fish like salmon or other types of fish, but like white fish.
But it was 200 grams of white fish, 200 grams of broccoli. And he did that a maximum of four times per day.
So, I would assume that some of the days he did maybe two meals or three meals, but no more than four meals a day of 200 grams of fish…200 grams of broccoli.
Also, in the morning he ate about 10 grams of oatmeal along with about 500 milliliters, unsweetened green tea.
So again, just oatmeal…green tea in the morning to help suppress his appetite to help with the weight loss process. And he just did that consistently.
The Science Behind Fish and Broccoli
So, I mean it sounds almost really far fetched at first, but if you think about it, it really does make sense.
There’s a lot of benefits to this diet and I would say the main way it works, in terms of weight loss is one, you’re getting an overall low caloric intake.
I mean broccoli…barely anything when it comes to calories. White fish…barely anything when it comes to calories.
So, you’re already putting yourself at a caloric deficit, which is going to automatically help you lose weight.
On top of that too…the fact that fish is filled with protein…it’s filled with the right types of oils, healthy oils, healthy fat that’s going to help you lose weight.
I mean, broccoli itself, has been known to really help with weight loss. I think part of that has to do with the chromium that it contains as well as some of the vitamins, minerals which help make your body a fat-burning machine.
One benefit to chromium is that it actually helps with your insulin resistance, so insulin is able to use up and break down your sugars a lot more faster, a lot more effectively and efficiently if you’ve got chromium in your system.
So, I mean, if you think about it, it really does make sense.
Even though nine pounds in a week seems like a lot, it actually makes sense, especially if it’s someone who’s heavier…if it’s someone who isn’t really that active or someone who already has a relatively high caloric intake.
The Benefits of the Diet
Now, there’s definitely a lot of great benefits to the fish and broccoli diet.
One, it’s great for long-term and short-term weight loss. Obviously if you continue on the diet, you’re going to lose more and more weight, which is phenomenal. It’s a low caloric intake overall, which is great for weight loss.
It’s great for people who love fish and broccoli. If you’re anything like me, I absolutely love fish. I could literally live off of it the rest of my life, so I love fish, and I love broccoli as well.
It’s very simple to follow…very simple to cook. Nothing complicated. Nothing complex. Just fish and broccoli. That’s it.
Also, you’re getting a bunch of great vitamins and great minerals from fish and from broccoli. Depends on the type of fish you eat though.
If it’s oily fish, you’re getting more vitamins, like vitamin A and vitamin D. If it’s white fish, at least from my understanding, you’re getting a lot of B vitamins.
Also, fish in general has a lot of great minerals like iodine, zinc, selenium, potassium, and of course, last but not least, there’s the omega-3 fatty acids which have many, many, many health benefits in addition to helping you lose weight.
Also, fish is a great source of protein as well, which is great for building muscle, helping you burn fat and also helping you feel full.
And then speaking of feeling full, one of the best benefits of this diet is that you don’t have to starve yourself. And if you watch the video of the guy’s testimonial, he actually says he wasn’t hungry, for the most part, wasn’t hungry at all.
Didn’t feel hungry, wasn’t starving himself, felt full as he was on this diet, so you don’t have to worry about constantly feeling hungry.
Disadvantages of the Diet
Now, with that being said, there are obviously some disadvantages to the fish and broccoli diet.
One of the first being, is that although for the longevity of the diet, you’re not going to feel that hungry, but in the first couple of days, when you’re still getting acclimated to the diet, you might feel kind of hungry.
You might have some hunger pains, so you got to watch out for that and be willing to go through that.
Also, it might be too boring for some people. Some people might not be into just fish and broccoli. Some people might want to have popcorn or steak or shrimp or some other things besides just fish.
So, it might be a little bit boring for some, like the chicken and broccoli diet.
Also, if you’re a fish hater, if you’re a broccoli hater, you’re going to be a hater of this diet as well, so it’s definitely not for everyone, especially if you hate fish, which is surprising because fish is amazing.
Fish is awesome. I love fish, but some people out there, oddly enough, hate fish.
Also, with that being said, you might start to crave other types of food. So overall, the diet can get a bit boring, especially if you’re eating fish and broccoli, fish and broccoli day in, day out, over and over and over again.
Chances are you might want to eat a steak, you might want to eat chicken, so you might start to crave other types of foods while on this type of diet.
