Introduction
Hey guys, this is David Hoang coming at you from supplementsuperhero.com and in today’s video, we’re going to be doing a matcha green tea powder review.
And is it really a drink for thigh fat and weight loss? Let’s see.
Background on Matcha
Alright, so first off, what is matcha? Okay. So, if you don’t know already, it’s basically green tea. It’s green tea made with leaves ground from stone mills.
Now, it’s still made from the Camellia sinensis plant, so it’s still made from the same plant that a lot of green teas are made from, but the only difference is that it’s a lot more potent than regular green tea.
What I mean by that guys, is when the green tea is ground, it’s ground into a nice powder and because it’s ground into a nice powder, that powder is used to actually make green tea, whereas a lot of green teas, they take the leaves and then they put it into little pouches and then hot water is mixed with those pouches, so you’re only getting the nutrients…the leftover nutrients that essentially is coming from those tea leaves.
Whereas if you’re getting it from the crushed ground powder, itself, and that powder is mixed in with water, more of the nutrients are left for you to essentially absorb.
Hope that makes sense. So the bottom line is: you’re getting a more potent version of green tea with matcha.
Does it really burn fat?
Now, is matcha good for burning thigh fat? Yes, and it helps you burn thigh fat and lose weight in several ways.
One, it contains the antioxidant EGCG. And the thing about EGCG is that it’s been tied to helping you burn fat and helping you lose weight.
Now, a lot of those are essentially studies done on mice, so you can take it or leave it as you will.
And then number two, it helps to boost your metabolism. So, EGCG has been linked to helping you boost your metabolism, which does help you burn fat.
And again, you can take the studies with a bit of skepticism, but in my opinion, I think it does help overall.
And this is especially true if you combined EGCG with exercise. This shows that if you exercise, and you drink green tea, and you take EGCG, you’re going to burn more fat.
Also, it has caffeine in it as well. So, caffeine has been linked to helping you lose weight and helping you burn fat.
Again, the thing about matcha, in particular, compared to green tea, is that it’s got a lot more EGCG. When you have a lot more EGCG, it means the antioxidant is going to help you a lot more effectively.
Other Benefits of Matcha
Now, there’s also a lot of other health benefits to matcha as well. It contains polyphenols, and polyphenols are basically compounds found in a lot of plants.
Polyphenols, many times, have antioxidants in them and of course, antioxidants have a wide, wide range of health benefits like reducing inflammation, increasing energy levels, better cognitive and mental performance, better vision, reducing joint pain, and potentially fighting off chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, et cetera, et cetera.
Should I buy it?
Now, where do you want to go, if you want to purchase matcha? You can get it at your local coffee shop or tea shop. You can get it in a variety of stores, depending on the stores you go to and the stores available.
And of course, online. If you go to amazon.com you can find matcha and they’re typically ranging in price from about $10 to $30 per container or bag, however they sell it, and it usually contains about 30 servings per container, roughly, give or take, depending on what you get.
So should you buy matcha? Totally depends on which category you fit in.
If you’re a tea drinker, I would say, definitely, if you haven’t tried matcha already. If you’re looking to lose weight and burn fat, sure. It’s definitely a great option, relatively inexpensive, so it’s a great way to add to your repertoire of fat-burning supplements.
If you’re a moderate tea drinker, maybe you like tea sometimes, maybe you like tea, maybe a lot of times you don’t care for it, then maybe.
You have to decide for yourself whether or not you want to shell out some money for matcha. If you hate tea, if you absolutely despise the taste of tea, stick to coffee….stick to other fat burning supplements because you’re just going to enjoy it more.
